Welcome

We are very pleased to welcome you to Willow Tree Primary School . If you are new to the school then we hope that this will be the first step on the road to a long and happy partnership with the school.

We are a community school operating in and responsible to the London Borough of Ealing. We provide a broad, balanced and stimulating curriculum encouraging each child to become an expert learner. We endeavour to give each child not only the opportunity to develop their intellectual and physical skills, but also their personal and spiritual qualities enabling them to become caring, capable members of society.

We believe that a close home/school partnership is an essential factor in the education of children and consequently we place great importance on the dialogue between families and school.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family into our school community.

Our Aims

At Willow Tree we aim to provide the very best for every child.  We offer a high quality education within a caring and stimulating environment.

We place a great emphasis on the social and moral development of the children and providing an education which prepares them for their place in the world.  We want children to feel safe and secure in the school and to display behaviour that they will be proud of. We ensure that children have access to adults to whom they can seek out and confide in as necessary.

We aim to provide an atmosphere of co-operation with our parents because we rely on home school liaison in order for every child to take advantage of what the school has to offer.

By the time a child leaves us at age 11, we will expect that your child will have achieved a level of reading, writing and maths which is appropriate to his/her ability.  We also hope that your child will be independent, respect himself and others, be self-motivated and will become an expert learner.  This will provide a firm foundation on which to move on to secondary education.

Above all we want your child to come to school and be happy!

About the School

In 1993 three schools were amalgamated under the single name Willow Tree Primary School. The buildings of the three old schools were ailing and were demolished in 2000 and replaced by a new, single, state of the art school building, with a capacity of of 850 including 100 in the Nursery.

The new Willow Tree school has a large playing field with features [added in 2007 such as grassed mounds and a planted conservation area], two inter-linking gymnasiums, a fully automated stage, two fully air-conditioned computer suites, a fully-stocked library, an atrium, a conference room, shared learning areas attached to each year group, toilets and clockroom attached to each classrom, a separate patio area to each classroom which leads directly out to the play areas. All in all, the school and its facilities, provide a very attractive and comfortable working environment for staff and chilfren.

The state of the art facilities extend to ICT in that each classroom is equipment with an interactive whiteboard and digital projector. This allows teachers to deliver curriculum content in an imaginative way and a high speed broadband connection allows immediate access to the internet. Video conferencing is currently under development at the school.

The school is in an Edicational Action Zone [EAZ] which aims to raise achievement through working on transitition arrangements in Years 5 and 6.

About the Location

The school is located in Northolt in the county of Middlesex. In reality, Northolt is an outer suberb of London, lying about 10 miles from its centre and to the North West. The A40 London to Oxford road is very close by and, historically, Northolt was a very important staging point along the route.

Northolt today is a blend of the old and the new; its suburbanisation, which started in the 1930’s, now slowed right down. The old is reflected in the preserved character of Northolt Village and its open, green spaces which lie within the conservation area of the Northolt and Greenford Countryside Park. The new is reflected in schools such as ours and modern housing developments which they serve as well as in the close proximity of a fully integrated public transport network.

All in all, the school is fortunate to be located in such a very pleasant area which has both modern amenties nearby and considerable open, green spaces to enjoy.
